My Mount Rushmore

Mount Rushmore you stand tall and strong
You’re never ever ever wrong
You seem so lonely and lost and sad
And when it is stormy you almost seem mad
Mount Rushmore you stand with your faces four
Loved and looked at and still wanting more
When it rains you seem to weep
Then in the ground your tears seep
To nurture a tree a plant or a flower
Looking down at us with not so much as a glower
Mount Rushmore you stand with glory and fame
Your faces look so docile and tame
I see you in my family and friends
In my house in my heart and my love always wins
So I am going back next summer to see you again!

Ooh, it's really great how you personify the portraits of Mount Rushmore, giving them so much emotion and humanity. I thoroughly enjoy the idea that they are "still wanting more"...we put so much of our hopes and dreams into those faces, but in turn, they do the same to us! It brings them to life, filling them with the expectations of our predecessors. Super neat, excellent job!
