The last few minutes of class seemed never ending. The next subject, if you could call it that, was P.E. All the kids were excited to meet the new teacher. The old teacher a man named Coach Hamilton, had moved to another job.
Anyway in just a few more minutes the kids would be released.
As most of the children finished the multiplication quiz (100 questions in 5 minutes) Summer signed her name elegantly in cursive. She felt relieved. 25 seconds to check work. 25 seconds until P.E.
RING-A-LING-A-LING RING-A-LING-A -LING the bell rang to LOUDLY Summer thought. Students rushed outside like they had gotten out of school for summer break.
The new teacher was a middle aged woman with a strict face. Soon all the kids gathered near her with curiosity written loudly on their faces.
“I’m Coach Holly, your new P.E. teacher” she announced in clear voice.
“What are we doing today?” one kid shouted.
“We are working on fleeing and chasing” she replied.
Yes summer thought. She was very good at this mostly because she was fast and had a strategy.
If you ran in wide circles you could tire out a person quickly. Summer had had
fun leading large groups of people on these chases always outsmarting the other kids.
She was somewhat considered the class brainiac raising her hand on all the questions and doing extra credit. Her mom and dad where always pushing her to do more. She really loved learning along with swimming, running, and reading. Her normal week went like this
Monday:Synchronized swimming
Tuesday:Rock climbing
Wednesday:Singing seminoles
Thursday:Synchronized swimming
Friday:Drive for a trip or stay at home
so her week was packed. She has a very snappy twin sister who agravetes her mom. Her dad has parkinsons disease.
At P.E. they played 4 games of tag. Summer won 3 and tied a 4th.
As they headed back to class Summer thought about the games. Then Coach Holly gave her a compliment. She hoped she had made a good first impressions.
